My Makeup: Daily Picks

Well hello everyone! Lucky for you, I have a habit of collecting makeup. It all started in college with the book Eye Candy I spent something like 30 minutes on complex, glam eye makeup before heading out the door everyday. I LOVED it! I tend to opt for a far more natural look now (I literally want to look like I’m not wearing makeup) but I still love makeup, it’s such an amazingly powerful tool. These are my daily go-to’s right now. Feel free to comment or share your  thoughts or favorites!

Hello Flawless | Benefit Cosmetics: This is a wonderfully light foundation powder that still packs in a lot of coverage. For the sun conscious, it’s also SPF 15, a great start to blocking the UV rays.

Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil | Boscia: This stuff is AMAZING!!! It feels refreshing and smooth on the skin, if that weren’t enough this oil just melts the makeup right off your face.

Fine One One | Benefit Cosmetics: Fine One One is a contouring stick for the lazy. It gives your cheeks just the right amount of “rosy” with a pearly glow on your cheekbones. For those with really sensitive skin this may feel a little heavy but I love it so far!

Face Cleanser | First Aid Beauty: I’m a huge fan of First Aid Beauty, in fact you may have noticed that I also use their moisturizer. This scent-free cleanser is easy on the skin and is my favorite daily cleanser.

BeautyBlender | BeautyBlender:  I’ve been convinced blending sponges have been the best for seamless makeup! Either way, I love not having to smear around my foundation around with my fingers and it looks so much more natural. Sephora also makes their own line of slightly cheaper sponges if you’re interested.

Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in True Love (No longer available but Flush is a close match!) | Tarte: I got this in a POPSUGAR box months ago and love it! I really wish I’d nabbed an extra, True Love was a limited edition color (they seem to have a new color every 3-ish months) but the texture and weight of this blush definitely makes it a winner.

A quick tip for those who want to be savvy about makeup purchases I’d recommend a subscription like Birchbox. It took me far too many failed makeup purchases to figure this out but it’s much better to try before you buy – preferably at home with your normal makeup products. Doing an extended trial with a sample size ensures that you know how your skin will react with the product before you dish out the cash.
