Surprise! I’m back and so are several of Make Scout’s regular contributors. I don’t really have an explanation for my absence, except that life happens. I work full-time on top of blogging and freelancing and recently, work has won out over blog-fun. But I’m missing my creative outlet in a big way so I’ve got 5 DIY’s already planned for the coming weeks!
Now onto regular programming! I’m trying out this new site Keep.com as a product discovery tool and I love it! Of course our mutual love of the color mint helps, but generally as a designer I like the clean crisp interface that makes it easy to scan through many products at once, save favorites, and even shop. The shopping’s quite clever actually, you can purchase items from multiple websites from Keep, the best part is you only have to fill out your information once! If you’d like to check out my favorites there feel free to take a look. Has anyone here tried it out? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Here’s a few of my favorite things this week:
1. Linen cross stripe tee: $45 J Crew
I have a ridiculous love of black and white stripes these days and this shirt is just darling!
2. Tarte Butter Lipstick in Ethereal Pink: $16 Tartecosmetics.com
I am currently obsessed with this limited edition color, the lipstick has a refreshing minty feeling (but not taste) and it’s a nice natural pink. It’s quickly selling out in Sephora stores but you can still pick up a tube at Tarte’s website.
3. Santa Fe Back-to-Front Earrings: $18 Nasty Gal
I’ve been pretty slow to adopt the back to front earring trend but this pair may just convert me! I love the color and texture of them and they’re really affordable for a trendy piece of jewelry.
4. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: $30 Sephora
I searched high and low for a light moisturizer that wouldn’t feel oily on my hands and skin. After trying many different products I’ve fallen in love with First Aid Beauty and use it as a part of my daily routine.
5. Lucky Brand Abbee Flats: $35 Saks off 5th
These patterned little flats are a far more affordable version of some of the d’Orsay flats out there. I may nab a pair while they’re still on sale, I love that blue!
6. Cuyana Leather Totes: $150 Cuyana
This tote has been on my wish list for awhile now. The spring colors are darling, beautiful pastels and I’ve heard rave reviews about the totes in general.
